Giants' Willy Adames: Receiving first day off in 2025
Adames is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Adames has started all 65 games (64 at shortstop, one at designated hitter) for the Giants this season, but he'll head to the bench Sunday after going 0-for-18 with four walks and eight strikeouts in his past six contests. The veteran shortstop inked a seven-year, $182 million contract with San Francisco in December, but his tenure has gotten off to a rocky start with a .584 OPS and just five homers in 278 plate appearances.

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Sitting again Sunday
Lee (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Lee was held out of the lineup for Saturday's contest due to a bit of back tightness, per Tristi Rodriguez of NBC Sports Bay Area, and the center fielder will remain on the bench for Sunday's contest. The 26-year-old still appeared as a pinch hitter Saturday, so the injury doesn't appear to be a serious concern. Daniel Johnson is receiving a second straight start in center field for San Francisco.

Giants' Tyler Rogers: Logs win Saturday
Rogers (3-2) picked up the win in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Atlanta, issuing one walk in a scoreless ninth inning.
The right-hander entered the game with the Giants facing a 2-1 deficit and threw eight of his 12 pitches for strikes. Matt Chapman followed with a two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the inning, giving Rogers his first win since April 24. The veteran reliever now owns a 1.48 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and a 28:4 K:BB across 30.1 innings in 32 appearances this season.

Giants' Matt Chapman: Blasts walk-off bomb
Chapman went 1-for-4 with a walk-off two-run home run in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Atlanta.
The third baseman played hero Saturday, launching a walk-off homer to extend the Giants' winning streak to four games. The team has leaned heavily on its pitching, but Chapman has been a key contributor offensively, slashing .389/.463/.750 with seven extra-base hits and five RBI over his past 10 games. The 32-year-old and Heliot Ramos are the only Giants with an OPS above .800 this season.

Giants' Logan Webb: Strong showing in no-decision
Webb did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks over six innings against Atlanta. He struck out 10.
Webb struck out double-digit batters for the fourth time this season. San Francisco's ace has been both consistent and effective in 2025, pitching to a 2.58 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 87.1 innings in 14 starts. If he maintains this level of performance, the 28-year-old is on pace to record his first sub-3.00 ERA season since 2022 and set a career high in strikeouts.

Giants' Sam Huff: Remaining with San Francisco
Huff cleared waivers Saturday and was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Huff was DFA'd on Wednesday, but he'll stick around the Giants organization as catching depth. The veteran backstop posted a .599 OPS with two homers and four RBI over 58 big-league plate appearances before being removed from the 40-man roster.

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Not in lineup Saturday
Lee isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup versus Atlanta, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Lee will begin on the bench for the second time in San Francisco's past seven games. The rest day doesn't seem to be performance-related, as Lee has reached base safely eight times (on four hits and four walks) over his past three contests. With Lee out of the lineup Saturday, rookie Daniel Johnson is starting in center field and batting leadoff.

Giants' Ryan Walker: Blown save Friday
Walker picked up a blown save in Friday's 5-4 extra-inning win over Atlanta, allowing two earned runs on three hits -- including one home run -- while striking out one over 1.1 innings.
Walker struck out the lone batter he faced in the sixth inning. However, he struggled in the seventh, surrendering a single and a two-run homer to the first two batters he faced. The right-hander threw 18 of his 27 pitches for strikes, marking his highest pitch count this season. Walker has appeared in five games since being removed from the closer role, during which he has been charged with three runs (two earned) on five hits while striking out two across 3.2 innings.

Giants' Spencer Bivens: Vultures win Friday
Bivens (2-2) picked up the win in one-third of a scoreless 10th inning during Friday's 5-4 extra-inning victory over Atlanta.
The 30-year-old was in the right place at the right time Friday, retiring Atlanta's final batter before Tyler Fitzgerald scored the game-winning run for the Giants in the bottom of the 10th. Bivens now owns a 3.07 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 18:8 K:BB across 29.1 innings in 19 games this season.

Giants' Justin Verlander: To be re-evaluated Saturday
Verlander (pectoral) threw 35-40 pitches in a simulated game at Oracle Park on Friday and will be re-evaluated Saturday, according to MLB.com.
Verlander was placed on the 15-day injured list May 22 due to a right pec strain. The veteran right-hander went through two simulated innings Friday, facing batters for the first time since suffering the injury. The Giants will evaluate how the 42-year-old responds Saturday before determining his next steps. Verlander has posted a 4.33 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 41:21 K:BB across 52 innings this season, going 0-3 across 10 starts.

Giants' Heliot Ramos: Racks up three hits in win
Ramos went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Friday's 5-4 extra-inning win over Atlanta.
Ramos has gone 15-for-41 (.366) with four extra-base hits, six RBI and seven runs scored over his last 10 games. He has four multi-hit efforts in that span after Friday's performance, though he was caught stealing in this contest. The outfielder is up to a .296/.363/.492 slash line with 11 home runs, 33 RBI, 41 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and five steals on eight attempts over 62 games. If Ramos continues to hit well, he'll remain atop the Giants' order.

Giants' Hayden Birdsong: Wild in no-decision
Birdsong allowed two runs on two hits and five walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Friday.
Birdsong didn't give up a hit until the fourth inning, but his wildness, which also included a hit batsman, kept him from having an effective performance. He threw just 52 of 93 pitches for strikes, while the five walks were by far a season high -- he hadn't issued more than two free passes in any of his previous outings. Birdsong is now at a 2.55 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 45:17 K:BB across 42.1 innings over 15 appearances (four starts). He's allowed just seven runs (six earned) over 19 innings across his four starts, so this was likely just a bump in the road rather than anything to be concerned about. Birdsong's next start is projected to be at Colorado.

Giants' Daniel Johnson: Sitting Friday
Johnson is not in the Giants' starting lineup against Atlanta on Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Johnson will be in the dugout for the start of Friday's contest after going 2-for-8 with two runs and a steal over the first two games of his major-league career. Mike Yastrzemski will start in right field and bat seventh.
