Packers' Quay Walker: Fifth-year option declined by team
Walker had his fifth-year option declined by the Packers on Thursday, though the team still wants to work out an extension, Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports.
The 2022 first-round pick has recorded 121 (75 solo), 118 (59 solo) and 102 (72 solo) tackles across his three pro regular seasons, respectively, leading Green Bay in the category each year. Walker did miss seven combined games due to injuries the last two seasons, including three with an ankle issue and one with a concussion in 2024. Despite those injuries, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst called Walker "really impactful," "a great leader" and a player the team "would love to have" around "for longer than just a couple years," per Demovsky.

Packers' Quay Walker: Extends 100-tackle streak
Walker played in 13 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with 102 tackles (72 solo), including 2.5 sacks, and two pass defenses.
Walker missed the final three games of the regular season due to an ankle injury, but he was able to play in Green Bay's NFC wild-card loss to Philadelphia and finished with eight tackles (four solo) while playing 54 defensive snaps. Despite missing four regular-season games, Walker managed to reach the tackling century mark for the third straight season and led the Packers in that category in 2024. Walker could be tasked with more defensive responsibilities in 2025 if Isaiah McDuffie decides to take his talents elsewhere in free agency.

Packers' Quay Walker: Good to go against Philadelphia
Walker (ankle) is active for Sunday's NFC wild-card game against the Eagles, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Walker missed the Packers' final three games of the regular season due to an ankle injury. He was a limited participant in practice all week, and the 2022 first-round pick has progressed enough in his recovery to play in the Packers' playoff opener. Walker will start alongside Edgerrin Cooper and Isaiah McDuffie while Eric Wilson and Ty'Ron Hopper provide rotational depth at linebacker.

Walker (ankle) was a limited participant during practice Wednesday, Bill Huber of SI.com reports.
Walker had yet to practice since suffering the injury in Week 15, so his return to the field in any capacity is a big step in the right direction. Head coach Matt LaFleur stated Monday that he was optimistic Walker could suit up Sunday against the Eagles, and he may now be on track to do so. Walker's practice status in the days ahead will still be worth monitoring though.

Walker wraps up the regular season with 102 tackles (72 solo), including nine TFLs and 2.5 sacks, and two pass breakups. Eric Wilson (100 percent of the defensive snaps) and Edgerrin Cooper (99 percent) played every-down linebacker roles for the Packers last Sunday against the Vikings.
