  • Flyers' Noah Cates: Earns four-year deal with Philly

Cates signed a four-year, $16 million contract extension with the Flyers on Tuesday.

Over 235 regular-season appearances with the Flyers during his four-year career, Cates has accumulated 40 goals and 102 points. The Minnesota native's new contract runs through the 2028-29 season, though he did not receive any no-trade protection, per Kevin Kurz of The Athletic. The 26-year-old Cates will likely see top-six minutes while skating with one of the power-play units in 2025-26.

  • Flyers' Helge Grans: Inks two-year contract

Grans signed a two-year, $1.575 million contract with the Flyers on Friday.

Grans had eight goals, 23 points and 42 PIM in 68 regular-season outings with AHL Lehigh Valley in 2024-25. He also registered an assist across six appearances with the Flyers. The 23-year-old will fight for an NHL roster spot out of training camp, but he might begin the 2025-26 campaign in the minors. That said, his new contract begins as a two-way deal but becomes a one-way contract for 2026-27, which speaks to the Flyers' outlook for the blueliner.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Signs two-year extension

Foerster signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Flyers on Thursday, Russell Morgan of Hockey Royalty reports.

Foerster tallied 25 goals in 81 regular-season games this season. The 23-year-old chipped in with 18 assists, 75 hits, 54 blocked shots and 49 PIM. He was on fire at the end of the season, scoring nine times while adding a pair of assists in his last nine contests.

  • Flyers' Oscar Eklind: Inks one-year extension

Eklind signed a one-year contract extension with the Flyers on Thursday.

Eklind spent the 2024-25 season with AHL Lehigh Valley and logged five goals and 17 assists over 64 regular-season appearances. He has some experience overseas, but it seems likely that he'll spend most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

  • Flyers' Rodrigo Abols: Inks one-year extension

Abols signed a one-year, $800,000 contract extension with the Flyers on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.

Abols had 29 points in 46 AHL games with Lehigh Valley, as well as five points in 22 NHL contests. The 29-year-old is a bit of a late bloomer, as he got his first look in the NHL in 2024-25, but he did enough to impress the team. Abols' deal is a one-way contract, and while that's not a guarantee he'll be an NHL regular, it sets him up well to be a bottom-six option in 2025-26.

  • Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Out at least six months

Ristolainen will miss six months after undergoing successful right triceps tendon surgery March 26.

The Flyers stated Thursday that Ristolainen is slated to miss training camp, but he is expected to make a full recovery. The defenseman missed the final 16 games of the regular season, finishing with four goals, 15 assists, 97 hits and 94 blocked shots across 63 regular-season appearances.

  • Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: May miss start of 2025-26

Ristolainen could miss the beginning of the 2025-26 season after undergoing surgery on his triceps, according to Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia on Saturday.

Ristolainen missed the final 16 games of the 2024-25 regular season. He also dealt with the same injury in 2023-24 while making only 31 appearances. Ristolainen had four goals, 19 points, 100 shots on net, 94 blocked shots and 97 hits in 63 outings during the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Flyers' Emil Andrae: Sent to AHL

Andrae was loaned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Andrae made a career-high 42 appearances for the Flyers this year, totaling a goal, six assists, 50 blocked shots and 46 hits while averaging 17:21 of ice time. Now that the Flyers have concluded their season, Andrae should provide assistance for the Phantoms during the Calder Cup Playoffs.

  • Flyers' Ryan Poehling: Draws assist in loss

Poehling produced an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.

Poehling's last month-plus of the campaign was the best he's ever played at the NHL level. He had eight goals, eight assists and 24 shots over the last 16 contests in 2024-25, giving him a total of 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) in 68 appearances for the season. He added 71 shots on net, 26 hits, 79 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating. Poehling is primarily a bottom-six center who fills a defensive role, so fantasy managers shouldn't be banking on him carrying this success over into 2025-26, though that will be a contract year for him.

  • Flyers' Noah Cates: Records helper in loss

Cates managed an assist in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.

Cates picked up two goals and seven assists over the last 11 games of the season, rebounding after a poor stretch in early March. The 26-year-old forward played at center much of the year and typically saw top-six minutes. His offense doesn't reflect that -- he ends the season with 16 goals, 21 assists, 110 shots on net, 87 hits, 54 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 78 appearances. Still, Cates took strides defensively and could be a reliable two-way forward for the Flyers in the years to come. He'll be a restricted free agent this summer.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Grabs apple in finale

Konecny posted an assist and two PIM in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.

Konecny didn't score a goal over the last 10 games of the season, but he still managed eight assists in that span. He was the Flyers' leading scorer in 2024-25, earning 76 points (24 goals, 52 assists) over 82 outings. He added 188 shots on net, 94 hits, 53 PIM and a minus-17 rating. Konecny's eight-year extension kicks in next season, cementing his place in the Flyers' core for the foreseeable future.

  • Flyers' Sean Couturier: Supplies two helpers Thursday

Couturier logged two assists, including one on the power play, in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.

Couturier ended the year strong with 13 points (five goals, eight assists) over the last 13 games. That brought him to a total of 45 points, his most since the 2019-20 campaign. The center had 15 goals, 30 assists, four power-play points, 155 shots on net, 54 hits, 45 blocked shots, 41 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 79 appearances, mainly serving in a top-six role. He'll likely stay there for a while longer, but if the Flyers upgrade their center depth, Couturier could eventually shuffle down to the third line in a shutdown role.

  • Flyers' Bobby Brink: Puts up pair of points

Brink scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.

Brink earned two goals and seven assists over his last 11 games this season, including a trio of multi-point efforts in that span. The 23-year-old winger set a career high with his 12th goal, which came with 19 seconds left in Thursday's contest, and he also crossed the 40-point mark (41) with 29 assists to his name. He added 105 shots on net, 98 hits and a minus-11 rating over 79 appearances. Brink would still benefit from shooting more and doing more with his power-play time, but he looks poised to be a middle-six option for 2025-26.

  • Flyers' Tyson Foerster: Goal, assist in loss

Foerster scored a goal on two shots and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.

Foerster had nine goals and two assists over the last nine games of the season. The winger seemed more free to shine after John Tortorella was fired as the head coach, which could bode well for Foerster heading into 2025-26. He took a small step forward this season, ending with 25 goals, 43 points (eight on the power play), 142 shots on net, 75 hits, 54 blocked shots, 49 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 81 appearances. If he can elevate his shot volume, Foerster could be a 30-goal, 60-point threat next season.

  • Flyers' Matvei Michkov: Secures rookie goals title

Michkov scored twice on seven shots and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres.

Michkov's late burst of offense in the season finale secured the rookie goals title for him this season. He tallied 26 goals, one ahead of San Jose's Macklin Celebrini, and both first-year forwards finished 2024-25 at 63 points. They trailed Montreal blueliner Lane Hutson (66 points) in the overall scoring race. Michkov was as impressive as advertised, but one of those three skaters may not even end up as a Calder Trophy finalist if Calgary goalie Dustin Wolf gets nominated instead. In addition to his 63 points, Michkov racked up 200 shots on net and a minus-18 rating over 80 appearances.

... See More ... See Less
  • Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Poor outing in loss

Kolosov gave up four goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Sabres. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Kolosov didn't show anything to leave a positive impression heading into the offseason. He ends the 2024-25 campaign with a 5-9-1 record, a 3.59 GAA and an .867 save percentage over 17 NHL appearances. Samuel Ersson took a step back, and Ivan Fedotov wasn't much better than Kolosov, so the Flyers will certainly be taking a long look at goaltending in the offseason. All three netminders are under contract for 2025-26, but Kolosov is the only one who will be waivers exempt, though he has previously shown reluctance to play in the AHL.
